Zombo Youth Summit to empower thousands of youths with development skills

Zombo, (UG): The sizeable population of young people from across the different lower administrative units of Zombo and the neighbouring districts of Pakwach and Nebbi are vehemently projected to grace the second edition of the Zombo youth summit come 2024, DailyExpress understands.

The Zombo Mwa Youth Summit slated for January 6 2024, at Paidha Cultural Centre in Paidha Town Council Zombo District, has been organised by Youth activists of Zombo Mwa Forum, a Whatsapp advocacy platform.

Premised on the theme, “Youths in business and leadership”, the summit is purposely meant to compel Youths to adapt to self-employment opportunities which was a resolution passed in the previous first summit that tackled unemployment and underemployment among the youth, these arrays of hope are much needed to harness the productivity of the young people amidst their deadening much sought after aspirations.

This publication has also established that high-profile dignitaries with shouting-star expertise in Computer Technology, Financial literacy, Business administration, and Governance among many others are already aligned for for the summit that will be graced by Mr Jacob Eyeru, the Chairperson of the National Youth Council of Uganda.

The organisers of the youth summit articulated the morals of the summit to this publication during an exclusive interview in which Mr Amos Jacan reported how business and leadership opportunities can be tapped into by all prospective youths attending the summit.

“We should know there are a lot of opportunities we can capitalize on am talking from a business and leadership point of view, I am a businessman and a leader we believe we can do all these things concurrently,” Mr Jacan told this website.

Alongside, the summit will also showcase youths who are successful in the sectors of agriculture, Entrepreneurship and professional careers to awaken the zeal and aspirations of the other young people for them to utilize their abilities sufficiently.

Mr Sam Rwothomio, the chairperson of the summit organising committee preferred to enumerate how the youth in apiculture and other sectors will be engaged during the summit saying in verbatim; “we also have some youth who are breaking barriers and doing great things within the district, it’s going to be an opportunity for them to exhibit what they are doing, we have youths in beekeeping, they are going to tell us what they are doing.”

Meanwhile, Mr Bhakit Yayaha, an outstanding youth and proprietor of AlSAF Tech Limited pegged several opportunities that will accrue from the summit ranging from digital solutions, sources of grants for businesses and most sharing experiences by the Successful youths as he rallied the young people to embrace the summit.

The youth summit is expected to attract about 1000 young people from across Zombo and the neighbouring districts of Nebbi and Pakwach and the unwavering support of stakeholders is much implored to effect the success of the summit.

The first edition of the Zombo Youth Summit held last year focused on employment opportunities but this year’s edition is under the theme ” Youth in Business and Leadership”.
