ZOMBO: End of Year gospel crusade to impart life skills to youths

Zombo, (UG): The youth department of Paidha United Vision for Christ (PUVC), an umbrella organisation that enjoins about 48 Pentecostal churches within Paidha Town Council in Zombo District is set to empower hundreds of youths with life skills and counselling sessions at the upcoming gospel crusade to arm them as they usher in the New year 2024, DailyExpress understands.

The three-day Gospel crusade that will commence on Wednesday, December, 27 is purposely meant to catapult the youths into the new year with so much spiritual, social and economic synergies to gain threshold over situational challenges of poverty, unemployment and so on.

To crusade has been organized by the Senior Pastor, John Ovoya and four other co-opted youthful ministers of the Gospel who include Pr. Robert Okethi, Pr. Gerald Kumakech, Evangelist Anirwoth Sophie and Pr. Hudson Kermundu in the company of over 48 pastors from the churches that subscribe to the PUVC.

This publication understands that the organizers of the crusade intend to implore the grace of God to safeguard them through the New Year and rally the population to accept Jesus as a personal Lord and Saviour and live in righteousness.

Mr Hudson Kermundu, vice Chairperson of PUVC revealed to DailyExpress how the youths are the soft target of this end-of-year gospel crusade, saying in verbatim; “we know that in Uganda young people take the greatest percentage of the population and they are responsible for shaping and steering the future let’s come together and listen to the word of the lord alongside the preaching we shall have life skills issues that will be discussed during the crusade.”

This publication has also learnt that the youths will be allowed to showcase their diverse talents as they sing and dance while praising God during the Gospel crusade.

Mr Sam Rwothomio, the mobilizer for the Gospel crusade said the occasion will be more of a youth convention saying; “it’s solely organised by the youth and it’s the youths who will be inspiring fellow youths just like iron sharpens iron.”

The End-of-year Gospel crusade that is premised on the theme” Come and encounter Jesus” is the first of its kind organised specifically to inspire the youth in the West Nile district.
