FUFA Women Super League
Kampala Queens 0-2 Kawempe Muslim
Kawempe Muslim Ladies FC Wednesday emerged victorious against rivals Kampala Queens FC handing the latter their first defeat of the season in a thrilling Kampala derby clash at MTN-Omondi Stadium.
The match marked the resumption of the FUFA Women’s Super League, bringing back the excitement after a hiatus since mid-November last year.
Amidst high anticipation, fans flocked to Lugogo, witnessing a captivating encounter where the visitors continued their historical dominance over Kampala Queens FC, securing a decisive 2-0 win.
The Valley Warriors, displaying a brilliant performance right from the start, claimed maximum points and earned bragging rights on the day.
Right from the kickoff, Kawempe Muslim took control of proceedings, showcasing their composure on the field.
The opening goal unfolded in the 25th minute, with Nabukenya capitalizing on a goalkeeper error by Daisy Nakaziro.
Lukiya Namubiru’s pass back to the goalkeeper inadvertently landed in the path of Nabukenya, who drilled home from close range.
A minute before the mandatory break, the visitors extended their lead as Nabukenya found herself inside the box to tap home Samalie Nakacwa’s well-delivered cross.
Despite Kampala Queens FC’s efforts in the second half, Kawempe Muslim’s defence held firm, keeping the opponents at bay.
Victory takes Kawempe Muslim joint top on the same number of points (10) as Kampala Queens FC who have a game in hand.
Looking ahead to Matchday 6, the anticipation builds with exciting clashes, including Uganda Marty’s versus UCU Lady Cardinals, Kampala Queens against Wakiso Hills, and the Lady Doves taking on Kawempe Moslems.
With the league heating up, the competition promises more excitement as teams vie for supremacy in the FUFA Women Super League.
