Kampala, (UG): KCCA FC under the stewardship of new head coach Abdallah Mubiru will Saturday face off against Wakiso Giants FC coached by John ‘Ayala’ Luyinda, his former assistant at Kabaka Kyabaggu stadium in a Uganda Premier League showdown fixture.

KCCA FC, riding high on a four-game winning streak will aim to extend their dominance after victories against successive victories against Bright Stars, SC Villa, UPDF FC, and URA FC.

Meanwhile, Wakiso Giants FC, grappling with two consecutive defeats, strives for redemption following a 2-1 loss to Mbarara City and a 1-0 setback against SC Villa.

As the Kasasiro boys eye their fifth consecutive win, history tips the scales in their favor, having won four out of the last six encounters with Wakiso Giants FC.

With 13 goals scored in the previous six meetings, KCCA FC enters the match as the more prolific side, while Wakiso Giants FC seeks to turn the tide and improve their current fourteenth position on the league table.

Coach Mubiru has expressed confidence in their preparation for the challenge, acknowledging the trickiness and skill of Wakiso Giants FC.

“We have registered improvement in our performance. We are not in the position in which we want to be but we know there is still room for more improvement. We play a team that is tricky and has got good players.” Mubiru noted on Friday.

Notably, the absence of key players such as Lukwago, Emilson, and Ayella poses a challenge for KCCA FC, though the return of Shaban Muhammad, following a collision that led to his match-winning goal against URA FC, adds a positive dimension to their lineup.

Despite languishing in the relegation zone at the moment, Mubiru is aware of the threat the Purple Sharks pose.

“They are one of the best teams in the league in terms of ball usage and creation of chances but haven’t been lucky with results,” Mubiru said.

“Their performances don’t match the results they deserve but are a good side that will surely give us a tough game,” he added.

Victory for the Kasasiro Boys could lift them to sixth position.

As the teams gear up for this clash of titans, fans eagerly anticipate an intense battle at Kabaka Kyabaggu Stadium, awaiting the outcome that will set the tone for the second half of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League season.
