Kibuku Bodaboda rider murdered in cold blood

Kibuku, (UG): The Police in Kibuku District are actively investigating a murder case after a bodaboda rider was attacked and killed, while another was injured by unknown thugs on Wednesday.

Mwigo Sepiryan, a bodaboda rider in his mid-40s at Dodoi road stage Kadama Town was murdered in cold blood and his body left in a pool of blood with multiple cuts on his head in a swamp at Lyada Cell Kadama Town Council.

Preliminary findings indicate that on the fateful night, the late left his stage at around 10:00 pm to go back to his home in Nabunyere A cell, Kadama Town Council driving his Bajaj Motorcycle Reg no. KMCG 002A where he landed in the said killer(s) who after disappeared with his motorcycle.

On the same night, in the same place, the thugs also attacked another motorbike cyclist identified as Mwanguha Anthony who was found with a deep cut on his head in the same place.

“Mwanguha Anthony Shalif 27 years old and a medical worker in Mubende district but a resident of Nabunyere B cell Nabunyere Parish Kadama Town Council was also found at the same place in critical condition with a deep cut on his head,” said Bukedi North Police Spokesperson SP Semewo Samuel.

“Mwanguha had left his father’s home in Nabunyere B at around 10:00 pm coming to Kadama Town where he had been sleeping and also landed believed to be the same people who injured him seriously and left him nearly dead then went away with his motorcycle Reg no. UAF 074X Bajaj boxer Red in colour,” Mr Semewo added.

Mwanguha is now admitted at Budaka Health Centre IV where he is receiving medical treatment but in critical condition.

By the time of this story, all the scenes had been documented by a team of detectives and inquiries at hand under the file number SD 04/11/01/2024, while Mwigo’s body was taken by Police to Mbale Regional Hospital for postmortem.

The Bukedi North Region Police Spokesperson advised all bodaboda riders to always be vigilant when they are moving more so at night.

In another developing story police in Budaka have in custody a motorcycle Bajaj boxer registration number UGA 579V and red.

The motorcycle was found abandoned in Nansanga on Mbale Tirinyi highway without any occupants.
Police have now appealed to the public that whoever has any knowledge about the motorcycle to go to Budaka Police Station.
