Netball Test Series: She Cranes triumph over Wales in game two to level at 1-1

WALES TEST SERIES GAME TWO 
Full time: Wales 40 – 64 Uganda 

In a captivating encounter on Game Day Two of the 2024 International Netball Test Series in Wales, the Uganda Netball Team; She Cranes showcased their prowess, securing a triumphant victory against the hosts with a final scoreline of 64-40 in Cardiff City.

Ahead of the match, She Cranes’ head coach, Fred Mugerwa, implemented strategic changes in the starting lineup, introducing Sandra Nambirige in WD and assigning Lilian Achola to start in WA.

The starting seven for the She Cranes comprised GS Cholhok Mary, GA Eyaru Irene, WA Achola Lilian, C Bagala Margret, WD Nambirige Sandra, GD Nakitto Christine, and GK Kadondi Faridah.

The first quarter saw an intense battle, ending with both teams locked at 14-14. As the game progressed, the She Cranes maintained their resilience, heading into halftime with a lead of 30-24.

Entering the third quarter, the She Cranes continued to dominate, extending their lead to 49-30 over Wales. The final whistle blew with the She Cranes emerging victorious, concluding the game at 64-40.

A standout player, Lilian Achola, showcased exceptional skills in the WA and Center positions, earning her the well-deserved title of Player of the Match.

With this win, the three-Test series is now leveled at 1-1, setting the stage for an exhilarating finale scheduled for Saturday. 

The She Cranes will face Wales once again on January 13th, aiming to secure their dominance and clinch the series. 

The team’s outstanding performance has solidified their status as true heroines of the nation, garnering support and admiration from fans nationwide.
