Moses Waiswa: Cranes midfielder back at Vipers after five years

StarTimes Uganda Premier League (SUPL) champions, Vipers SC, have successfully secured the signature of fan-favourite Moses Waiswa Ndhondhi, making a triumphant return to St Mary’s Stadium, Kitende, after a hiatus of nearly five years.

The silky-attacking midfielder, a stalwart of the Uganda Cranes, has committed to a two-year deal, extending his loyalty to the Venoms until 2026.

Having left Vipers in the 2018/19 season for South Africa’s SuperSport United, where he spent three impactful campaigns, Waiswa later made a homecoming to Uganda with KCCA FC, where he showcased his talents for the past one and a half seasons.

This signing not only marks Vipers’ first acquisition in the January transfer window but also stands as a significant milestone for Livingstone Mbabazi, who secures his first-ever signing as the head coach.

Anticipating a highly competitive midfield, Waiswa is set to contend with standout players like Karim Watambala, Bright Anukani, Allan Okello, Abubakar Lawal, David Bagoole, and Abubakali Walusimbi.

The inclusion of Waiswa adds a layer of depth and experience to the squad, promising an exciting season ahead for Vipers SC. The Midfield maestro has woven a rich tapestry of football experience, showcasing his skills across various clubs on his remarkable journey.

Moses Waiswa’s journey began with Vaxjo United FC in Sweden 2014-2015, where he honed his craft and laid the foundation for what would become a distinguished career.

The following year marked his return to familiar grounds as he donned the colours of Vipers SC from 2017 to 2019, becoming a fan favourite and leaving an indelible mark on the club.

A bold move awaited him in 2019 when he embarked on an international venture, signing with South Africa’s SuperSport United FC. Three fruitful campaigns in a different football landscape showcased Waiswa’s adaptability and skill on a global stage.

The homecoming beckoned in 2022 when he joined KCCA FC, where he continued to dazzle fans with his flair and vision on the pitch.
