Uganda Cranes are set to face Kuwait in an international friendly at Cairo International Stadium on Friday, January 19 at 7:00 pm East African Time (EAT).
Cranes head coach Put Paul Joseph has finalized the squad, consisting of 22 players who departed for Cairo, Egypt, on Monday at 6 PM.
The squad, comprised entirely of players based in Uganda, had their first training at Lavandula Football Field in Cairo on Wednesday.
This friendly match against Kuwait serves as a crucial preparation for Uganda Cranes ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers and the TotalEnergies African Nations Championship (CHAN) qualifiers scheduled for March this year.
The squad features goalkeepers Hannington Ssebwalunyo (Maroons FC) and Tom Ikara (BUL FC), defenders Kenneth Semakula and Gavin Kizito Mugweri (SC Villa), Rashid Okocha (NEC FC), Patrick Bayiga (Maroons FC), Rogers Torach, Livingstone Mulondo (Vipers SC), Nicholas Mweere (BUL FC), and Hudu Mulikyi (URA FC).
In the midfield, Ronald Ssekiganda (SC Villa), Ashiraf Mugume (KCCA FC), Bright Anukani (Vipers SC), Ramz Kawooya (Express FC), Laban Tibiita (URA FC), and Allan Oyirwoth (MYDA FC) are ready to make an impact.
The forward line includes Nelson Senkatuka (Soltilo Bright Stars FC), Alex Kitatta (BUL FC), Denis Omedi (Kitara FC), Usama Arafat Kiza (KCCA FC), Patrick Jonah Kakande (SC Villa), and Muhammad Shaban (KCCA FC).
As the anticipation builds, all eyes will be on the Uganda Cranes as they aim to showcase their prowess on the international stage and set the tone for upcoming competitions.
