Kampala, (UG): Uganda’s First Lady and Education Minister, Hon Janet Kataha Museveni is today (Thursday) expected to release the results for 2023 Primary Leaving Examinations.
“#PLE2023 results to be released on Thursday, January 25, 2024,” the country’s examination body, UNEB confirmed on Wednesday evening in a brief post via X formerly Twitter.
As it has been in the previous results releases, the Minister of Education, Mrs Museveni will officially release the results at a function held at State House Nakasero, starting at 11 am.
DailyExpress understands that the 2023 PLE results release will be broadcast live on all major national Radio and TV stations, and via UNEBs social media channels.
UNEB said the announcement of the exact date for the release of the 2023 PLE results was delayed due to the just concluded summits which hindered the appointment with Mrs Janet Museveni but as soon as it was secured, the team from UNEB led by its new Chairperson, Prof Celestino Obua and the Executive Director, Mr Dan Odongo among others met with the Minister and make the final decision.
“The UNEB team was led by the new UNEB Chairperson, Prof Celestino Obua, who was flanked by the Executive Director, Mr Dan N. Odongo. It was also attended by some members of the UNEB Senior Management Team,” UNEB Spokesperson Ms Jennifer Kasula Musamba said.
UNEB figures show that a total of 749,347 pupils sat for PLE in 2023, of which 391,558 were girls and 357,789 were boys.
