Uganda’s Primacy Academy obtains ICDL Teaching and Testing Centre

Kampala, (UG):- Primacy Academy, an ICT corporate training centre based in Kampala has secured an International Computer Driving License (ICDL) teaching and testing centre, a globally recognised ICT and digital literacy qualification.

“We are thrilled to announce a significant milestone in the journey of Primacy Academy: our official recognition by the International Computer Driving License (ICDL) as a teaching centre in Uganda,” Primacy Academy said in an official statement via its website.

“This recognition not only validates our commitment to excellence in education but also opens up new avenues for our students to excel in the digital age,” the statement adds.

Being accepted as an ICDL teaching centre is a testament to the high-quality education and training offered at Primacy Academy, which opens up avenues for students to excel in the fast-changing digital age.

“This achievement underscores our dedication to providing our students with the skills and knowledge they need to thrive in today’s increasingly digital world. By partnering with ICDL, we are equipping our students with globally recognized certifications that will enhance their career prospects and empower them to succeed in the digital workplace,” the statement from the ICT centre emphasized in the statement.

“As a teaching centre, Primacy Academy will offer comprehensive training programs designed to help students acquire essential computer skills such as word processing, spreadsheets, presentations, online collaboration, and more.”

Mr Barigye Gift Bafaki, the Proprietor and Co-Founder at Primacy Academy told DailyExpress that with the new achievement, experienced instructors at the institute will provide hands-on training and personalized support to ensure that every student has the opportunity to succeed.

“Our collaboration with ICDL provides our students with numerous opportunities. Through agreements inked by the Ugandan government with ICDL, essential digital competencies are being imparted to Ugandans,” Barigye remarked.

About the ICDL

ICDL, an International Certification of Digital Literacy, also known as an International Computer Driving License is a globally recognised certification programme that verifies an individual’s proficiency in essential computer skills.

The ICDL has developed a diverse range of modules, from basic computer use, word processing, spreadsheets, databases, and online collaboration, to advanced digital skills for occupational effectiveness as well as new and emerging technologies.

To obtain ICDL certification, individuals typically undergo training or self-study for the relevant modules and then take standardised tests to demonstrate their competence.
