The Rugby Cranes Sevens Challenge team is all set to embark on their journey to Montevideo on Sunday 3rd March 2024.
The team, featuring Uganda’s best players is led by captain Ian Muyanyi as it looks forward to making a mark in the South American country.
Uganda will be participating in the Rugby Sevens Challenge Series, which features 16 teams from around the world, all vying for the title.
The Rugby Cranes Sevens Challenge team has been making waves in the rugby world with their impressive performances, and their upcoming tour is sure to be an exciting affair.
The full squad for the Montevideo tour includes Adrian Kasito, Norbert Okenyi, Aaron Ofoyirwoth, Isaac Massa, Phillip Wokorach, Desire Ayera, Ian Munyani, Alex Aturinda, Pius Ogena, Timothy Mugisha, Denise Etwau, and Timothy Kisiga.
Notable players on the squad include Norbert Okenyi, who is returning from an injury that kept him out of the Dubai series, and Phillip Wokorach, a France-based professional rugby player who brings a wealth of experience to the team.
However, it has been announced that four players including Levis Ocen, Michael Wokorach, William Nkore, and Solomon Okia will not be part of the team. Ocen and Okia are now based in Europe, Wokorach left the training squad last year, and Nkore stepped aside due to work commitments.
The Rugby Cranes Sevens Challenge team is confident and motivated to make Uganda proud in the tournament. We wish them all the luck for their journey and hope they come back victorious.
