Why Prof Basheka was sacked

A highly placed source at the University who preferred anonymity revealed to our reporter that Prof. Basheka’s trouble for Prof. Basheka began when he on February 7, 2024, petitioned the office of the National Council for Higher Education demanding intervention and investigations about irregularities at the Western Uganda university.

When he recently appeared before the university disciplinary committee, the appointment board, and the university council, Basheka pleaded guilty to abuse of office, abetting crime, and gross insubordination, contrary to the Kabale University Human Resource Manual.

After pleading guilty, committees unanimously voted to remove him from office.
