Lango musicians out of danger after Thursday road crash

Lira, (UG):- Five Lango local musicians who on Thursday morning got involved in a nasty road crash along the Kampala-Gulu Highway are out of danger, DailyExpress understands.

The musicians identified as Walter Ogwang aka Lil Square, Geoffrey Ayena aka Gye Silence Igwe, Rachidi Ogole aka Captain Ice, Sisco Odongo aka Big Virus and B’Ffal were involved in the accident when their car veered off the road and overturned several times at Dima, in Kiryandongo District.

According to Gye Silence Igwe, despite suffering concussions from the impact, none of the occupants of the car they were travelling in exhibited any visible injuries or cuts.

“We are currently undergoing assessments by medical experts for any potential injuries. The car we were in suddenly veered off the road and overturned around 6 AM,” Gye Silence Igwe said.

A source close to the musicians told DailyExpress that the group was travelling from Kampala after attending a meeting of the musicians’ federations and heading back to Lira City when the crash happened.

Emmy Ongom aka Blood Moon, the chairman of the Lango Sub-region Music Association said the five musicians are out of danger and have been dispatched to their respective homes for further management.

Meanwhile, Boniface Okwii, a Lira-based businessman also sustained minor injuries in the same accident.
