President Yoweri Museveni is tomorrow, Saturday, March 23, 2024, expected in Bukedea District, to officially open and commission Bukedea Teaching Hospital and Bukedea College of Health Sciences, two mega institutions founded by Speaker of Parliament, Rt Hon Anita Among.

Speaker Among, who is also the Bukedea District Woman MP in an invitation note sent to all MPs confirmed the attendance of President Museveni, who is also the National Chairman of the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM), a party she belongs to.

“On the occasion of the opening and commissioning of Bukedea Teaching Hospital and Bukedea College of Health Sciences by H.E Gen Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, President of Uganda, the Rt Hon Anita Annet Among, Speaker of Parliament invites the presence of Honourable Members of Parliament to grace the occasion that is scheduled for Saturday, March 23, 2024, starting at 10:00 am,” reads the invitation noted in part.

Located in Bukedea Town Council, about 33 kilometres along the Mbale-Kumi highway, the Teaching Hospital will offer specialized and general treatment to patients with various health conditions.

During her tour of the multi-million teaching hospital in January this year, Ms Among said the facility is ready to offer treatment for both outpatients and inpatients, adding that all normal deliveries are to be free of charge and expectant mothers will also be given free mama kits.
