Old Students donate sports attire worth millions to Adjumani SS

Adjumani, (UG):– A delegation of old students of the mighty Adjumani Senior Secondary School have donated five sets of sports attire worth millions of shillings to the management in a move to boost co-curricular activities at the school.

The project (of boosting sports activities) was initiated by the old students in 2023 and on Friday, March 22, the group leaders handed over the items to the administration.

The treasurer for the project Mr. David lauded the members of the old students for the tremendous resilience shown towards accomplishing this very important project.

He further expressed his heartfelt happiness to the team who represented the old students amidst their tight schedules to join in handing off the attires. “ Do co-curricular activities but remember books await you.” “Co-circular activities are important but books are more important which will propel you into your future”, he added, emphasizing that “This project is just the beginning”

The chairperson for the project, Ms Faida Rose praised her team and the entire family of the old students for having the school in their hearts and showing signs of solidarity and urged them to move on with helping the school.

“Keep these attires well in the remembrance of the old students and go out to win matches and bring the trophy home,” says Faida.

Mr Ambayo William, one of the members on the team that delivered the items eulogized the old students for showing togetherness in making the project successful, and advised the players to look at it and own it “Desist from stealing them” says Ambayo. 

He urged the students to take into consideration three core points he identified as the “Three Ds” of; Determination, Dedication and discipline if they are to succeed.

Ambayo further commended the administration of the school for showing leeway to the students and urged them to work extra hard to bring good performance and discipline to the school.

Mrs. Keliki Gladys one of the representatives of the old students commended the team for the work well done and thanked the administration for the warm welcome. She advised the students to “be ambassadors to this school, perform well and bring more students”. 

Hon Masudio Kevin the DLC representing Ciforo and Ukusijoni who also doubles as the Deputy Speaker Adjumani District Local Government thanked the Old students for not forgetting the pot that fed them and requested them not to stop with the project but should continue helping the school.

The head girl of the school Ms Adrupio Patricia expressed her satisfaction to the team of the Old students for loving the school and promised that they will perform well in the ball games and academically.

Meanwhile, the Adjumani SS Headteacher, Mr Bangi Godfrey gave his sincere thanks to the old students for showing a good example to the young students in the school and urged them to continue coming to the school to give them career guidance and other short talks that will transform the lives of the children.

Founded in the early 1970s, Adjumani Secondary School is one of the oldest government-aided schools in the Madi Sub-region, West Nile.
