LIST: See 5000 applicants shortlisted to join Uganda Police, dates for interviews set

Kampala, (UG): Uganda Police has finally released the names of over 5000 Ugandans shortlisted to join the force as Probationer Police Constable (PPC).

The shortlisted candidates according to police have now been invited for interviews scheduled for April 2024 at various locations across the country. The interviews will include a fitness test, an aptitude test, an oral test, and a medical examination.

“Attached is a list of successful applicants invited for interviews for the position of Probationer Police Constable (PPC). The interviews of shortlisted applicants are scheduled to commence on 8th April 2024 (.), ” a Police statement released last week reads in part.

DailyExpress understands that the shortlisted candidates, who are between ages 18 to 23, are expected to undertake assignments in UPF upon full recruitment, among which will include enforcing law and order, protecting life and property, preserving law and order, and executing any other duties as assigned by the Inspector General of Police.

Police have since directed all shortlisted candidates to go to designated recruitment centres on the dates indicated, with their original national identity cards, and original academic documents. Candidates have also been advised to keep time – to report at the respective recruitment centres by 8 am.

Successful candidates are expected to have no criminal record, be physically and medically fit, and be ready to work for long hours and at times under difficult conditions. They should also be ready to work in any part of the country.

Below are dates and venues designated for Uganda Police job interviews 2024

After the interviews, successful applicants are also expected to be ready to undertake the requisite twelve (12) months of Police Basic Training.

The development comes after police in February 2024, under reference number REF: HRM/138/160/01/VOL. 3/17, advertised at least 2,500 PPC jobs, inviting applications from suitably qualified Ugandan citizens willing to join the Uganda Police Force.

The 5000+ candidates are now set to compete for each police constable position whose remuneration will be under the UG SCALE- U7 (the salary scale).
