NUP’s Mumbya abduction renews concerns over safety of Ugandan opposition supporters

Kampala, (UG):- The recent abduction of Mumbya Hussein, a supporter of the National Unity Platform (NUP) in Uganda, has sparked renewed concerns over the safety and security of political activists and opposition members in the country.

The incident, which occurred last Saturday in Jinja City near the taxi park, highlights the escalating tensions and challenges facing individuals perceived to be affiliated with opposition groups.

According to reports, Mumbya Hussein was forcefully taken by heavily armed men in a disturbingly bold manner, leaving his family and loved ones in a state of shock and anguish. The use of a drone, bearing registration number UAL 748K, to carry out the abduction adds another dimension of concern to this alarming incident.

Efforts to locate Mumbya Hussein have been met with obstacles, with his whereabouts only recently confirmed to be at a military facility in Bombo. This revelation has stirred outrage among many, with calls for immediate action to ensure his safety and well-being.
