The National Population and Housing Census, conducted every ten years, holds immense importance for the nation’s development planning and resource allocation. With the reference night set as May 9th, 2024, the census will span ten days until May 19th, 2024.

President Museveni launched the NPHC 2024 activity on December 12th, 2023, underlining the government’s commitment to collecting accurate demographic, social, and economic data for informed decision-making.

Unlike previous census exercises, this year’s census will leverage digital technology for data collection, processing, and dissemination. This modern approach is expected to streamline the process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness in the production of statistics by the Uganda Bureau of Statistics (UBOS).
