Nsubuga, a famous National Resistance Movement mobiliser in Mukono was the leader of ‘Muzeeyi Neera Neera,’ a pressure group comprising mainly bodas and taxi drivers.

According to Police Spokesperson SCP Fred Enanga, the Crime Intelligence Unit in Mukono in liaison with Mukono Central Police Station netted the suspect identified as Musimenta Ruth, an employee at NJ Business Solutions as the prime suspect in the murder by stabbing of her husband Nsubuga James on the night of 17th – 18th May 2024, at their marital home in Katikamu village, Mpoma Parish.

Preliminary investigations indicate that on Friday, May 17, 2024, Nsubuga returned home and had supper with his wife together with their two children. They later developed a misunderstanding which resulted in a fight. The woman overpowered the man and then stabbed him around the neck resulting in his death.

Musimenta kept the body in the bedroom until Sunday night when she informed a friend who wanted to help her bury the body in a pit dug around the toilet, but it was the friend who informed intelligence that responded and arrested the woman while trying to escape from the area.

“The CI task team picked intelligence, indicating how the suspect was arranging to bury the body in a shallow grave, near the toilet. The killer weapon – a knife was recovered. Two army shoes and a toy pistol, that belonged to the deceased, were also recovered from the house,” Enanga said.
