Mbale Heroes in ‘do or die’ fixture for Uganda Premier League return

Mbale Heroes FC fans and players are gearing up for Sunday, May 26 2024 for a Match decider, to make it to the Uganda Premier League after several years of absence.

According to What’s Mbale, a Social Media page for news, “Mbale Heroes FC are on the brink of making history, set to end a decade-long absence of Premier League football since CRO’s relegation in 2014.

Having been relegated themselves in 2007, the Heroes are tantalizingly close to a triumphant return, needing just three points from their final two games to secure promotion”.

Currently sitting third on the BetPawa Big League table, the top three teams earn the coveted promotion.

Mbale Heroes hold a four-point lead over local rivals Kataka FC, in fourth, and a five-point cushion over Onduparaka, in fifth. A crucial showdown against Onduparaka is set for Sunday, May 26, at Mbale City Stadium, followed by an away match against Kiyinda Boys.

To spice up the mood, “Counsel Paul Mugoya Wanyoto the Chairman of the Lands Board Mbale District and Heroes executive member, has bought 200 Tickets for the Fans and offered $300 Per Goal for the players in the game against Onduparaka at Mbale City Stadium”.

Wanyoto’s action, “Aims to boost the morale of both fans and players. Mbale Heroes need just three points from their remaining two games to secure a spot in the Uganda Premier League”.

“Now is the time for all football enthusiasts in the region to come together and show unwavering support. Your presence and cheers at the stadium can make all the difference. Let’s fill the stands and create an electrifying atmosphere that propels Mbale Heroes to victory,” What’s Mbale posted.
