Entebbe, (UG):- Nkumba University is mourning the untimely death of one of its brightest football stars, Kikoyo Aron, who passed away after succumbing to injuries sustained in a tragic accident at a construction site in Bukomero.

Kikoyo, a first-year student pursuing a Bachelor of Public Administration and Management (BPAM) on a long-distance program, was part of the team that led Nkumba University to victory in the Uganda University League last season.

His exceptional skills and dedication on the pitch inspired his teammates and fellow students, earning him a special place in the hearts of the university community.

According to a statement released by the university, Kikoyo was involved in a fatal accident when a wooden shelter collapsed on him at the construction site. Despite efforts to save him, he succumbed to his injuries, leaving behind a trail of grief and shock among his peers, teammates, and lecturers.

The university remembered Kikoyo as a vibrant, dedicated, and passionate athlete who brought energy and enthusiasm to the football pitch. His excellent performance was instrumental in Nkumba University’s maiden victory in the Pepsi University Football League, a feat that will be cherished for years to come.

The university community is in mourning, and condolences have poured in from students, staff, and alumni.

“Our deepest condolences go out to his family, friends, and loved ones. May we find comfort in the memories we shared and may his legacy continue to inspire us to strive for excellence.” The statement from the university read.

Kikoyo’s passing is a devastating loss to the university community, and his absence will be deeply felt. His legacy, however, will live on through the memories of his achievements on and off the pitch, inspiring future generations of students and athletes.
