ONC, Wakiso leaders, meet for upcoming empowerment event in Entebbe

Entebbe, (UG):- The Office of the National Chairman (ONC) on Friday held the first preparatory meeting with Wakiso District leaders ahead of the upcoming empowerment drive on June 27, 2024.

Represented by the ONC Coordinator for Wakiso Sub-region, Mr Henry Luzinda, the meeting took place at the office of the Resident District Commissioner for Entebbe Mr Hakim Kirigwa alongside the NRM Chairperson in Entebbe Mr Ashaka Steven to discuss strategies that will make the Wakiso empowerment campaign a success.

Scheduled to be hosted at Muslim playgrounds in Entebbe-Wakiso, the event shall be presided over by the Senior Presidential Advisor on Political Affairs and ONC head SPA/PA Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo who will on behalf of the NRM National Chairman H.E Yoweri Kaguta Museveni deliver wealth creation equipment to different groups, especially youths and women regardless of their political parties.

DailyExpress has established that as part of the preparatory plans for the event, the ONC team together with NRM mobilizers in Wakiso will starting Tuesday next week, embark on a door-to-door mobilisation to interact with the local leaders so that the event turns out a success.

Under the stewardship of SPA Namyalo, ONC’s unwavering dedication to uplifting communities and fostering unity underscores the pivotal role of grassroots empowerment in driving sustainable development.

Ever since the campaign started over a year ago, more than one million youths have benefited from the program, directly & Indirectly and the campaign continues to yield fruits in almost every corner of the country.

Wakiso will be the next district and region reached by Hajjat Namyalo through President Museveni’s empowerment initiative which aims to donate a host of wealth creation tools that can help people start up some businesses and start earning a daily income for their homesteads.

Some of the items which are expected to be given to the beneficiaries will include; sewing machines, metal fabrication and welding equipment, hairdryers, chips-making machines, popcorn machines, carpentry tools, and more as the office bids to empower communities towards self-sufficiency.
