Magogo delivers Speaker Among’s Shs50m pledge to Uganda Cranes after Botswana win

Kampala, (UG):- The President of Uganda’s Football Governing Body (FUFA) Eng Hon. Moses Magogo Saturday presented a UGX 50 million winning bonus to the Uganda Cranes, fulfilling a promise made by Speaker of the Parliament of Uganda Rt. Hon. Anita Among.

The bonus comes on the heels of the Cranes’ thrilling 1-0 victory over Botswana at Namboole Stadium, courtesy of Shaban Muhammad’s second-half goal, a win which sent shockwaves of excitement throughout the country, with Ugandans revelling in the team’s triumph.

Speaker Among, who had pledged the bonus, congratulated the players on their hard-fought win, commending their resilience and fighting spirit. 

“I am thrilled to see the Uganda Cranes emerge victorious against Botswana,” she said. 

“Their determination and perseverance have made us proud, and I wish them the best of luck in their upcoming match against Algeria.” Ms Among added

The bonus presentation ceremony was a testament to the growing support for the Uganda Cranes, with FUFA President Magogo emphasizing the importance of recognizing the team’s achievements. 

“This bonus is a small token of appreciation for the team’s dedication and hard work,” he said. 

“We believe in their potential and are committed to supporting them every step of the way.”

In their next fixture, Uganda Cranes will face Algeria on Monday, June 10th, at 7 pm, and the team is already gearing up for the encounter. Yesterday, (Saturday), the team held a recovery training session to fine-tune their strategy and build momentum for the upcoming match.

As the Uganda Cranes continue their journey in the tournament, they can count on the unwavering support of the nation, inspired by their recent victory and driven by their passion for the beautiful game.
