Museveni okays SPA Namyalo to deliver wealth creation tools to his Bazzukulu in Wakiso

Kampala, (UG):- President Yoweri Museveni through his Office of the NRM National Chairman in Kyambogo has okayed the ‘now-popular’ ONC empowerment campaign to reach the areas of Entebbe and Wakiso at large so that his Bazzukulu get equipped with startup capital tools as part of strategies to fight against poverty.

The enchanting news was revealed by the Special Presidential Advisor on Political Affairs, Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye who also doubles as the custodian manager of ONC during a meeting with Wakiso District Leaders on Monday afternoon.

In her speech to the leaders on the afternoon, Hajjat Namyalo said the campaign is President Museveni’s initiative to see that his Bazzukulu get empowered right from the grassroot level, which came about due to the unending bureaucracy in the government programmes such as Emyooga, Parish Development Model (PDM) among others.

“The government programmes are there and we follow them, although most of them are stuffed with a lot of bureaucracy, but then we came up with this concept to see that those who might not have to wait for the one million shillings, can at least get equipment from as low as Shs50,000 to get started,” she said, triggering ululations from the Bazzukulu.

“What we are doing (the empowerment) did not start today, we did it before under Gen Salim Saleh in 2015 where we used to give out welding machines, automobile toolboxes, and so on until mafias hijacked the concept, and it phased out,” Namyalo added, clarifying that once she assumed office as the Political Head at Kyambogo, she revived the campaign, which is part of the initiatives to revive NRM’s support in the country.

Hajjat Namyalo assured the Wakiso Bazzukulu that, come 27th June 2024, a whole lot of wealth-creation items worth millions will be given out to organized youth and women groups, and therefore rallied them to mobilize themselves in large numbers and fill up the grounds that day.

In her concluding remarks, Ms Namyalo urged the stakeholders in this campaign to stay united for the common goal of #TovaKuMain2026 which aims to see that President Museveni is back on the ballot come 2026, and eventually win the election massively against all odds.

The former Mayor Entebbe Municipality, Mr Stephen Kabuye, who also attended the meeting on Monday assured Hajat Namyalo that the leaders on the ground will do whatever they can to mobilize the Bazzukulu in large numbers at the empowerment campaign.

The meeting which took place at Entebbe Muslim Grounds, the selected venue for the June 27 event was also attended by various ONC coordinators in the subregion, NRM leaders in Wakiso and Entebbe, UPDF officers attached to the Special Forces Command (SFC), among others.
