KAMPALA, (UG): The Consumers Choice Awards (CCA), the annual awards organized by Consumers Guide Magazine (CGM) Friday launched the sixth edition of the awards amidst a rallying to consumers and the general public to take part in the voting process in order to recognize brands that serve them best.

The Awards, held annually, recognize business excellence through an independent market survey to determine brand reputation, customer satisfaction, and business excellence to determine the quality of their service, value, integrity and professionalism.

Mr Salim Bari, the Chief Executive Officer and Publisher of Consumer Choice Magazine while launching the awards said the campaign, now its edition, is a true reflection of the “marketplace as it represents the opinion of consumers and buyers across Uganda.”

“Our theme for the current edition of the Consumer Choice Awards still is Recognizing Business Excellence,” Mr Bari said during a press conference held on Friday, June 14, at Golf Course Hotel in Kampala.

“Our mission is to honour businesses and individuals who go that extra distance for their customers and also to make sure they get the recognition they so richly deserve,” he added.

According to Mr Bari, the Awards are an additional reference point in consumers’ search for optimal providers for the services or products they desire. He added, in this year’s edition, the Consumers Choice Magazine will continue to gather opinions, perceptions and expectations from hundreds of thousands of consumers from several parts of the country to actively make them involved in choosing their best brands.

“The consumer choice awards recipients are chosen by the consumers, there are real votes. They are not selected by a panel of judges, you’re chosen by the people, by the consumers that you serve,” he stressed

On Friday, September 06, 2024, the Consumers Choice Magazine will host an Awards Gala Dinner at the same hotel where hundreds of the industry’s brightest luminaries will convene to celebrate the winners in the various categories as selected by their respective customers.

On the validity of the voting and selection process, Mr Bari assured the public that “no one can buy a win in advertising, partnering or working with Consumer Guide Magazine and its various team members.”

“Financial/advertising considerations play no part in the results. Results are completely independent,” he added.

Mr Bari emphasized that “the selection process has been perfected by third-party research firms to ensure that only the most outstanding service providers are the winners within the industry.”

For the companies that are not nominated in their respective categories, Mr Bari advised consumers to submit the names and the consulting firm behind the selection process will do a thorough review to have them included, once deemed fit and satisfying to their findings.

“We usually tell the consumers that in circumstances where the voter’s favourite business is missing on the system, they’re free to type the name of the business, as their selection.”
