Kampala, (UG):- The Police in Kampala Metropolitan area are currently on a hunt for a notorious suspect, Musa Kigongo, in connection with the recent attack on a businessman on Ben Kiwanuka Street.
CCTV footage showed the victim being kicked by a gang of men, and Kigongo is believed to be a member of the same gang responsible for a string of car thefts and violent crimes in Kampala, Wakiso, and Masaka.
Police say Kigongo is currently on the run after stealing a car, and a case has been filed under reference number SD REF 19/6/5/2024.
“The authorities are working to apprehend Kigongo and bring him to justice for his alleged role in these serious crimes in the City and the areas nearby,” police said.
The police spokesperson SCP Fred Enanga however told the media that at least 34 members of these gangs have been arrested by the Crime Intelligence and Flying Squad in the past two months.
SCP Enanga mentioned the suspects involved in the attack captured on CCTV along Wavamuno road in Munyonyo, those involved in attacking an Ethiopian national who was travelling on a boda boda and the ones captured on camera along Ben Kiwanuka Street.
