Eid-Al-Adha: Muslims urged to stand firm in the fight against domestic violence

Kamuli, (UG):- Kamuli and Buyende Muslim District Khadi, Sheikh Ismail Kazibwe has called upon all Muslims and Ugandans to fight against Domestic Violence which is on the rise in the Busoga region and Uganda at large.

While leading the Eid Al-Adha prayers at Masigid Jamia located at Nabirumba road in Kamuli Municipality, Sheikh Kazibwe said that increased family wrangling in Busoga has led to the loss of many lives, child neglect, child labour, early and forced marriage and early pregnancy.

Kazibwe appealed to all people to embrace love unity and peace in their families and be Allah-fearing so that domestic  Violence is ended.

“I argue all Muslims and non-Muslims to embrace love unity and peace and be Allah fearing so that we eliminate domestic violence in our community,” He said, before appealing to those who are going to sacrifice animals to give to the needy, widows and the poor.

“Those who are to sacrifice animals please share with the needy people, widows and the poor who can not afford to sacrifice to Allah.”

Meanwhile, Sheikh Ikali Abed who preached during the “Kuthuba” asked all Muslims to take the example of Ibrahim grandfather of faith who tried to sacrifice his only son Ismail to Allah and be obedient 

“We should be obedient in all kinds as Ibrahim was to Allah. Sacrifice for others love one another and help the poor”; said Sheikh Ikali.

During this Eid Adhuha period, only domestic animals like goats of one year and above, sheep of six months and above, cows of two years and above and Camel of five years and above are allowed to be sacrificed and it lasts for three days after the Eid day.
