Sports Club Villa, three-time regional champions, face a crucial test in the 2024 Dar Port CECAFA Kagame Cup. After a goalless draw against El Merriekh Bentiu FC, Villa’s path to the semi-finals depends on their upcoming match against Singida Black Stars.

Villa Coach Dusan Stojanovic’s team, boosted by new signings and led by captain David Owori, is determined to make a mark after a 19-year absence from the Kagame Cup.

Villa’s attack, led by last season’s MVP Patrick Kakande, Charles Lwanga, and midfielder Ronald Ssekiganda, will rely on their striking force to break down Singida’s defense.

However, Singida, under veteran coach Patrick Aussems, poses a significant threat with their strong midfield and star player Thomas Ulimwengu.

The match is a must-win for Villa, who must also defeat APR FC in their final group game to secure a semi-final spot.

The top team in each of the three groups and the best runners-up from any of the groups will automatically qualify for the semi-final stage.
