Inzu Ya Masaaba outlines planned activities for 2024 Imbalu ceremony launch

Mbale, (UG):- The Inzuya Masaaba Cultural institution, in partnership with the Ministry of Tourism, Wildlife and Antiquities on Tuesday, July 16 briefed the members of the media fraternity about a series of planned activities leading up to the Imbalu launch slated for August 3rd.

Some of the outlined activities include the pre-imbalu launch competition and the Umukuka dinner among others.

The Prime Minister of Inzuyamasaaba, Rt Hon Charles Walimbwa Peke opened the media briefing on behalf of the cultural institution.

While addressing the media on the afternoon, Steven Masiga, the spokesperson of Bamasaaba Cultural leadership confirmed the imbalu programs to media houses including TheStandard, AnkoleTimes, DailyExpress, Uganda Broadcasting Television (Ubc tv) Elgon FM, Baba TV and Baba Radio among others. 

In attendance at the media briefing were the ministers of Inzuyamasaaba including the Minister for Culture Hon Moses Kutoi and Imbalu chairman Mr Wilson Watira.

Other guests included the security team, prisons officials, the Ministry of Tourism officials and the Nabachelema Foundation an association equivalent to the Nabagelega Foundation of Buganda.

Under the auspices of the bugisu cultural leaders which has equally pledged to train over 500 imbalu traditional surgeons.
