Police stuck with body of man killed in hit-and-run accident at Mukwano road

Kampala, (UG):- The Police at Kampala CPS are seeking relatives of one Birungi Vincent who died in a fatal hit-and-run accident that occurred on Wednesday, July 17, 2024, along Mukwano Road, near Clock Tower and Total petrol station.

According to KMP Police Spokesperson Patrick Onyango, Birungi, 70, succumbed to injuries at the scene, and his body was transported to City Mortuary, Mulago, for a post-mortem examination.

Information relating to his national identification card indicates that the deceased, born on January 1, 1964, resided in Zone B, Makerere II Parish, Kawempe Division, Kampala District.

Onyango therefore urged anyone with information relating to Birungi or his relatives to come out and claim his body at the city mortuary in Mmulago Hospital.

“The police are urging anyone with information about Birungi’s next of kin or friends to come forward and claim his body at Mulago City Mortuary,” SP Onyango said, adding that “investigations into the accident are ongoing.”
