As part of the 2024 Ekyooto Ha Mpango festival in the Tooro Kingdom, some of the lucky guests had a feel of the royal tour as the Tooro King – His Majesty Oyo Nyimba Kabamba Iguru, treated them to special moments of series of activities within the kingdom.

The guests including the media, the international community and the tourism community, were treated to activities including birding (commonly known as bird watching) and nature walks in the Kibaale forest among others.

The royal tour which was kicked off only a few minutes to midday of the 14th Day of September, 2024, got even more exciting with the company of Princess Elizabeth Bagaya, Tooro Queen mother – Best Kemigisa, and Tourism State Minister – Martin Mugara, who were all seen all through the rest of the trek.

With guidance from Uganda Wildlife Authority tour guides, tourists were verbally taken through the various bird species found in the forest whose echoes were only heard but unfortunately were not seen throughout the exercise; wait, could it be because some of these bird species are not easily found anywhere else in the world? Well, that’s a question to the tourism experts and probably a story for another day!
