Kibuku, (UG):- The Archbishop of Tororo Archdiocese, Dr. Emmanuel Obbo, has urged the people of Kibuku to draw closer to God and foster unity within their communities in order to overcome the poverty plaguing the Bukedi subregion.
Speaking during a Monday special mass at Patron Saint Kizito Bugiri Primary School where over 300 Christians were confirmed into the Catholic faith, Archbishop Obbo stressed the importance of faith and teamwork in achieving success.
He highlighted the ancient practice of community collaboration and emphasized that this approach remains crucial for overcoming modern-day challenges.
“We need to draw closer to God and strengthen our faith in Christ. We must also remember the importance of working together, just as our ancestors did,” he said. “This unity will help us overcome the poverty that is affecting our region.”
The Archbishop also touched upon the importance of good behaviour, encouraging the people of Kibuku to work towards positive personal growth.
The confirmation ceremony was a joyous occasion, filled with hymns and prayers, and marked a significant step in the lives of the newly confirmed Christians.
