Kampala, (UG):- Former National Resistance Movement aspirant for Sheema South MP seat Mr Tugume Nickson Banduho, has added another feather to his academic cap after he graduated on Friday, September 20, with a First-Class Honors Degree at Victoria University.
Tugume, who unsuccessfully contested for the ruling party ticket in the 2020 NRM primaries was among the hundreds of students who graduated as Victoria University held its 8th Graduation Ceremony at Speke Resort Convention Centre Munyonyo.
The colourful function, presided over by Chancellor Prof. John Opuda-Asibo and Vice Chancellor Prof Lawrence Muganga saw over 1,470 students conferred degrees, diplomas, and certificates.
The Sheema-based businessman stood out among his fellow graduands for his impressive academic performance, a First-Class Honors Degree in International Relations and Diplomacy, which highlighted his dedication both in the classroom and in the political arena as he reached this incredible achievement.
“It’s been a long journey, but one I’m proud of. I’ve learned so much, and I can’t wait to apply this knowledge to make a positive impact in my community and beyond,” Tugume said after the conferment of the degree, before thanking his family, friends, and mentors for their support.
The colourful graduation cemented Victoria University’s position in nurturing academic excellence and proved to be a celebration for people like Tugume for their hard work and determination to reach even greater heights.
Tugume’s success, in particular, resonated with many who remember his strong run in the NRM primaries for the Sheema South MP race. Now, with a solid academic foundation in International Relations and Diplomacy, there is no doubt he is poised to continue his journey of service and leadership with even greater impact.
Having retired from UPDF, Tugume ventured into private business and is now CEO of several labour externalisation companies both in Ugandan and Kenya.
He is already well known on the ground for mobilising support from the masses of his party, NRM, and promises to deliver to the expectations of the people of Sheema South once voted to represent them in parliament in the next elections.
