65-year-old woman brutally murdered in Budaka

Budaka, (UG):- The residents of Buchera village in Kameruka Sub-county, Budaka District, have been left in shock following the brutal murder of a 65-year-old woman, Nadome Ludia, whose body was discovered on Sunday, September 22, 2024.

The elderly woman, who lived alone at the time of her death, was found in a pool of blood with significant injuries, including a missing hand, in what police have described as a cold-blooded murder.

According to reports, Nadome Ludia was last seen alive by her neighbors at around 8:00 PM the previous evening when she entered her home to retire for the night. Concern grew the following morning when she did not emerge from her house by 10:00 AM, prompting a neighbor to check on her. The neighbor made the horrific discovery of her lifeless body inside the home.

The police at Iki-Iki Police Station were immediately notified and responded swiftly, launching an investigation into the murder. Upon reaching the crime scene, investigators recovered a bloodied panga, believed to be the weapon used in the attack, and noted the gruesome nature of the injuries sustained by the deceased. 

Police Spokesperson for Bukedi North, SP Semewo Samuel told DailyExpress that statements were taken from witnesses, and the case has been registered under file number CRB 56/2024.

“The body of the deceased was transported to Mbale City Mortuary for a post-mortem examination as police continue their inquiries, SP Semewo Samuel said before assuring the community that investigations are ongoing, and more information will be provided as the case progresses.

The Spokesman said authorities have yet to identify the individuals responsible for the heinous crime, but police are urging anyone with information to come forward.

The tragic incident has sparked fear and concern among the local residents, who are calling for swift justice and heightened security in the area.
