The deputy RDC was on Sunday addressing believers and well-wishers of Bethesda Healing Centre Church at Lwerera-Kigulu, Nawaningi Sub County in Iganga district where he was invited as the chief guest at the first anniversary celebrations of the church.

“The problem we have is corruption or stealing money, and I feel so touched whenever I talk about it. You hear that someone has stolen shs100m, Shs2b, etc. You hear police officers asking for money to offer services. The question is, are the people stealing money not from Uganda? Automatically they are Ugandans,” RDC Daala said.

He tasked the church pastors to encourage people to embrace a saving culture which will enable them to develop, saying some people have a weakness in saving but it is very vital in commanding development.

He was pleased with the number of women in the church and he asked them to also encourage their husbands to fellowship and always put God first in order to have peaceful homes with God-fearing children.

The chairperson of the village Mr Muwumba Mubaraka decried the negligence by parents in taking their children to school saying a number of opportunities have been coming to his office to spot children who have completed senior four and above but the village end up losing the chance because no one is ready and suiting to grab it.

Meanwhile, the presiding pastor of Bethesda Healing Centre Church Pr. Wambi Emmanuel praised God for the first anniversary of the church under his stewardship and beseeched the government to continue working with the church closely since they are part in supporting its programmes.

“We ask the government to work with churches to put the community right, and we ask for leniency whenever we organize crusades and other functions,” Pr. Wambi said.

He added that they are touching souls spiritually but also emphasizing the physical well-being of some community members through supporting them in various ways like availing them with clean water.
