About 1,500 students in Namisindwa District have commenced their Uganda Certificate of Education (UCE) final exams.
Sophie Kuloba, Acting District Education Officer, reported that 1,410 candidates are under the new curriculum, while 98 are under the old curriculum, spread across 15 examination centres; 7 in government-aided schools and 8 in private schools.
Bwayo Emma, the Namisindwa Male Youth Councilor, praised the efforts of parents and teachers, stating it’s now up to the students to finish the job.
Bwayo, also a member of the social services committee, says he had a morning assessment of schools to assess readiness. He noted that bad roads delayed exam delivery in some hard-to-reach areas but found no major issues otherwise.
Students across Uganda began their S4 UNEB exams on Monday, October 14, 2024.
