Kampala, (UG):- The Senior Presidential Advisor / Political Affairs at Office of the National Chairman (ONC), Hajjat Hadijah Namyalo Uzeiye has today (Tuesday) handed over the Shs10m cash prize to City Socialite Shakib Lutaaya, the winner of Saturday’s corporate boxing duel at MTN Indoor Arena at Lugogo.

Shakib, husband to socialite Zari Hassan, emerged victorious on Saturday, October 12, after his opponent, Junior Dave Kazoora aka JK pulled out of the boxing fight just minutes into the third and final round of the night.

Of course with his wifey Zari cheering him on, Shakib looked much fitter and flexible with great footwork as well as defence in the opening two rounds, and its no doubt that Kazoora had to bow out prematurely to give him the deserved victory

The boxing bout, the first of its kind, was proudly powered by Bwinbet Uganda and indeed lived to the billing as every jab, guard and body movement was cheered aloud by the hundreds of passionate boxing fans across the divide.

Speaking on the night after the fight, Hajjati Namyalo pledged a cash prize of Shs 10,000,000 to Shakib Lutaaya, the winner of the Corporate contest as well as Shs 200,000 to every boxer on the Boxing Champions League menu for the night.

And today, Tuesday, October 15, the ONC Boss fulfilled her word as she handed over the cash prize to Shakib who was accompanied to the Kyambogo office by his very opponent JK Kazoora and colleagues.

Hajjat in her brief remarks pledged to continue supporting boxing as a sport and urged the youths to take up this chance and get fully involved other than engaging in non-productive activities.

On Saturday night, Shakib thanked Kazoora for accepting to challenge him on and the organizers for making this happen, as the sport is one avenue of bringing together people from all walks of life.

“I thank my brother JK Kazoora for accepting to fight me. I am happy for Uganda Boxing Federation president Moses Muhangi who organized this fight and I thank the fans for coming up” Shakib, who was visibly excited stated.

JK Kazoora has however taken to social media to ‘jokingly’ ask for a rematch against Saturday’s winner Shakib, saying this time he will dismantle him and reclaim the victory he handed him prematurely. “Jab jab I need a rematch and finish this proper,” Kazoora posted via his official X handle.

Other celebrities have also come out to dare Shakib for a challenge, among which is NBS Senior Journalist, Canary Mugume, among others.

Saturday’s corporate boxing night was graced by celebrities including Navio, Alex Muhangi, Spice Diana, Mustafa Kizza, Joseph Ochaya, Shakira-Shakira, Alien Skin and his Fangone Forest, Ebonies led by Dr Bossa among others.

Representatives from the Kyambogo office were led by Hajjat Namyalo (National Coordinator Bazzukulu and Manager ONC), Mr Seth Murari (National Coordinator Games and Sports), Kintu Moses (Public Relations Officer) and Hakim Kyeswa (Head Online and Digital Media), and other coordinators in Kampala and Metropolitan.
