Sironko, (UG):- The Minister of State for Karamoja Affairs, who also doubles as the Sironko District Woman MP Hon Nambozo Florence on Tuesday delivered 150 high-quality mattresses and 200 bedsheets to various health facilities, including Health Centres III and IV, across the district.
The distribution, led by Joshua Nabutewa, the MP’s personal assistant started with hard-to-reach areas such as Bulujewa, Bumulisha, and Budadiri.
In her remarks read by Nabutewa, Minister Namboozi emphasized that all health facilities in Sironko would soon receive the supplies, adding that this initiative aims to bolster the health sector, building on previous support like the ambulance donation made a few years ago.
Namisi Tom, the chairperson of Bumulisha Health Centre III, expressed gratitude for the timely support, noting that it was the facility’s first donation of its kind.
He highlighted that patients had been forced to rest on the bare floor and called on leaders to expedite the delivery of medical supplies to assist the health centre further.
Ms Jane, the assistant in charge of Budadiri Health Centre IV, who received the consignment on behalf of the hospital administration, also praised the minister’s intervention.
She noted the overwhelming patient influx at the facility and said the donation would provide much-needed relief.
