Brian Ssenyondo sacked as Kitara FC coach after tough UPL start

Masindi, (UG):- Kitara Football Club announced Sunday evening that they have parted ways with Head Coach Brian Ssenyondo and the entire technical team.

This decision, although characterized by the club as mutual, came after a troubling start to the 2024/25 Uganda Premier League season, with the Masindi boys managing only one win and a draw out from the first six matches.

“Kitara FC would like to announce the mutual parting of ways with our Head Coach Brian Ssenyondo and the entire technical team, effective immediately. This decision has been made after thorough deliberation, with the collective interests of Kitara FC and its supporters in mind,” read in part the Club Statement released Sunday, October 27, 2024.

Kitara expressed gratitude for Ssenyondo’s dedication, particularly noting his pivotal role in leading them to their first-ever major title, the Uganda Cup, last season.

“We extend our sincere gratitude to the Head Coach and technical team for their dedication and commitment to the club,” the statement read.

“While this chapter ends, we honour the efforts that have helped build the foundation we continue to strengthen. The club remains focused and steps are being taken to Identify new leadership that aligns with our mission.”

Kitara said it values the support of our fans, stakeholders, and partners and is committed to keeping everyone informed on the next phase. “We thank you for your support during this transition and look forward to achieving new milestones together.”

Unconfirmed reports have surfaced suggesting that former Cranes coaches Matia Lule and Wasswa Bbosa are the frontrunners to replace Ssenyondo as the club intensifies its search for an immediate replacement.
