Tactician Wasswa Bbosa appointed new Kitara FC head coach

Masindi, (UG):- Uganda Cup champions, Kitara FC Monday announced the appointment of Wasswa Bbosa as their new head coach, just a day after parting ways with Brian Ssenyondo, who was relieved of his duties following a disappointing start to the 2024/25 season.

Bbosa, a seasoned figure in Ugandan football, is known for his impressive track record. Having previously led clubs like Express FC, SC Villa, Mbarara City, and Gaddafi FC, he brings a wealth of experience and a history of success, including winning the Uganda Premier League title and the CECAFA Kagame Cup with Express.

His extensive coaching background positions him as a strong candidate to turn around Kitara’s fortunes, particularly after the team managed only four points from their first six matches.

The experienced tactician steps into the role amid the team’s current form in a troubling state, with four losses to NEC FC, KCCA FC, Police FC, and BUL FC in six league matches, and just one win (against Lugazi FC), and a draw (against Mbarara) leaving them in relegation threatened position.

His immediate task will be to instil confidence and strategic discipline in the squad, with his first challenge coming this Friday against URA FC at the Hamz Stadium in Nakivubo.

Bbosa’s coaching team includes notable figures such as Hassan Mubiru as assistant coach, Richard Kansole as the goalkeeping coach, Ayub Balyejusa as fitness trainer, Aloysius Makubuya as team doctor, and Alex Mugisha as team statistician.

The decision to appoint Bbosa reflects a broader trend in the league, with several clubs already making managerial changes just six games into the season.

Notable dismissals include Nikola Kavazovic of Vipers, Sadiq Ssempigi of Lugazi, Richard Malinga of Mbale Heroes, and Baker Mbowa of Express, an early turnover that highlights the pressures faced by coaches in the competitive landscape of Ugandan football.
