Kasiina Adventist Choir light up Kyenjojo on maiden gospel album launch

By Mukonyezi Steven Akiiki

Kyenjojo, (UG):- Kyenjojo’s Popular Seventh Day Adventist choir, KAGS (Kasiina Adventist Gospel Singers) Monday had its very first musical launch in a thrilling performance that happened at Kijuma Gardens, Kyenjojo, western Uganda.

On D-day, gates opened at 2:00 pm, and in a few hours, the vast venue was crammed with gospel music lovers. Beautiful sounds of gospel music were heard from the venue as different choirs took to the stage in support of their sister choir in service to God.

The choir patron, Mr. Musebeni Julius Akiiki was so thankful to everyone for turning up given the heavy downpour which had threatened to disorganize the long-awaited day. He said that their coming was a blessing to them and therefore it was a total member involved in the accomplishment of God’s work.

He also informed the audience that the theme for the launch was, “Buying a van for God’s service.” He pointed out how hard service in other areas was becoming because of the lack of a convenient means of transport. He wished all of them God’s blessing as they watched performances from different singing groups.

Since its inception in 2000, the choir, famous for its vibrant youthful members and lively performances, has recorded a number of songs both in audio and video versions.

Leading to this historic day in the choir’s ministry was the feeling, wish and desire to show thankfulness to God for the far He has brought the choir. Through some shortcomings, criticisms and many other things, God has faithfully led them through. It was therefore worth celebrating what God has done for them throughout the years.

The venue, filled to capacity boomed with beautiful songs from forty-seven (47) choirs which included Hebrews Choir (Kampala), Militant Gospel Singers and Fort Portal Central Singers (Fort Portal), KAYO and Agape choirs (Hoima), BMC (Kyegegwa), Winners Choir and Eli’s Crew Choir from Kyenjojo among others.

In his vote of thanks to the audience, Mr Asiimwe Ronald, the guest of honour said that he was so glad to be invited on such a wonderful day. He thanked all people for loving and supporting KAGS Choir, stressing that they had not only done it for the group but for God in whose service they are. He promised his continued full support of the choir.
