Museveni to resume countrywide presidential tours monitoring govt programmes

Kampala, (UG):- President Yoweri Museveni will, next week, resume his national assessment tour on the Parish Development Model (PDM), starting with the Eastern Region.

Scheduled to begin on November 6, 2024, the tour will start with Bukedi Sub-Region, where the President is expected to engage with local leaders, technical staff, and members of the public.

According to the Presidential Press Unit (PPU), the purpose of the tour is to evaluate the progress and impact of the PDM initiatives aimed at economic empowerment and grassroots development.

“The Presidential Press Unit (PPU) informs the General Public that the President of the Republic of Uganda, H.E Gen. Yoweri Kaguta Museveni, will resume his performance assessment tour of the Parish Development Model (PDM) in Eastern Uganda, starting with Bukedi Sub-Region on November 6, 2024. During the tour, H.E the President will meet various stakeholders including leaders, technical staff and address public rallies at various venues in the respective districts,” PPU said in a statement on Wednesday, October 30, 2024.

During his visit, President Museveni will address public gatherings and consult with various stakeholders on PDM progress in the districts. This initiative forms part of the government’s broader commitment to poverty alleviation and sustainable development across Uganda.

The Presidential tours started last year under the theme: “Wealth creation and Prosperity for all, with emphasis on the Four-Acre Model, Parish Development Model, Emyooga and other Government livelihood Programmes”.

The President has so far toured Acholi, West Nile and Greater Masaka sub-regions. While addressing Members of Parliament from Bukeddi, Teso and Karamoja sub-regions at Parliament, ahead of the presidential tours next week, Alupo noted that the population was so enthusiastic with Museveni’s previous visits to their regions.
