MP Sam Otukol donates relief food worth millions to P.7 candidates in Agule County

Pallisa, (UG):- Sam Otukol the Pallisa county who has declared to shift to Agule county come 2026 Friday gave out foodstuff worth 20 million to the candidates of the 18 PLE sitting centres of Agule county where 1,338 Candidates are registered.

While in Nyakoi primary school Otukol said rendering education services in  Agule county as a leader is thrice easier than Pallisa because it has only 17 government-aided primary schools compared to 43 in Pallisa county.

“I have come to awaken Agule and my coming here is not because I have failed to deliver in Pallisa but I am a born of Akisim sub-county and in my wisdom coupled with the call by people who realize my delivery in Pallisa I had to shift. In 2016 Francis Mukula from Pallisa County represented Agule in parliament but nobody complained now I have come some political remnants are trying to confuse the populace”, Otukol said.

Otukol who assured people that given any form of weather he will get to parliament on the ticket of Agule county said the meat will be delivered in the mornings of the two days of examinations to void meat fraud by teachers.

At Okisiran primary school while handing over the rice and five cartons of milk, Otukol pledged to give each teacher in Agule County 5: kilograms of meat for Christmas.

To improve pupils’ discipline and avoid escaping, Otukol tasked the management committee of Opadoi Primary School to submit to him the number of cement bags they need to fence the school as they have poles and rolls of chain link wire.

Bosco Okiria said this was the opportunity for them to make Otukol buy for them the lacking 300 poles valued at 10.5m and  80 bags of cement.

Okiria said they tried to push parents for the last three years and only managed to buy 15 rolls of chain link and 100 poles.

“Regardless of poverty in the households, the stopping of parents from contributing anything for school development by the government monitored by the RDC affected the entire resolutions yet the UPE funds sent have strings attached and nothing is allocated to development. Our school gets 6 million but if our parents were allowed to pay the termly development of 3,000 per pupil the 1,300 will be fetching 3.9 m termly”, Okiria said.

Abram Osire the Akisim sub-county coordinator of Team Otukol said people should appreciate what he is doing by giving him massive support.

“You have heard from Otukol himself that he is going to help in church construction which he was hindered from. If you cannot even afford a cup of porridge for your child why do you accept people with children in private schools to tell Otukol is a liar? He has brought UHT milk for the candidates each one litre, child a half kilograms and a quarter of meat”, Osire said.

Agapitus Kedi head of programs and mobilization squad of Team Otukol said the problem of Agule is politics of intrigue and hatred instead of focusing on service delivery.

Kedi said some people who are not developmental are criticizing Otukol’s intended candidature in Agule saying he should remain in Pallisa County.

“Otukol is a born of Agule in Akisim sub-county and because his father the former County Chief Zedekiah Okello (RIP) had another home in Kamuge town council he contested from there but has now preferred to come back home. Even Francis Mukula alias Ekwotapini represented Agule from 2016 to 2021 yet he is a resident of Owagaria village in Pallisa sub-county, Pallisa county”, Kedi said.

Agule County is currently represented by David Ochwa who ousted Policarp Ogwari from the court and others who have declared interest in the race include Herbert Okello Okudel, Patrick Okiring, Adam Obeke, David Apua Keddi, and Josephine Ibaseret.
