Kampala, (UG):- NBS Television, a brand of Next Media Services Conglomerate has launched a powerful partnership with Million Trees International (MTI) which will see the two companies join efforts in restoring over 50 hectares of forest land within the Kasyoha Kitomi Central Forest Reserve.

The collaboration launched Thursday, November 07 at Next Media offices in Naguru-Kampala, according is primarily focused on expanding Uganda’s forest cover on land designated by the National Forestry Authority (NFA).

This according to them will reinforce Uganda’s commitment to Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and climate resilience, especially for the East African country which lost over 68,300 hectares of forest land in 2023 alone.

Dr. Jibril Semakula Owomugisha, the Founding Director of Million Trees International, noted the crucial role of such partnerships in ecological recovery and that partnerships like these are essential to the pursuit of their goals.

“While Uganda is working to restore 24% of its forest cover to pre-1990 levels, partnerships like the one with NBS TV are essential to making these goals a reality,” he said.

Through the “15 Million Trees” campaign, an initiative under the Taasa Obutonde (Save the Environment) program, NBS TV, which has been at the forefront of environmental sustainability, says it is committed to reforesting Uganda by planting 15 million trees across the nation.
