Kiryandongo, (UG):- Baylor Uganda with support from PEPFAR has donated medical equipment and IEC materials to over eight Health Center IIs in Kiryandongo District.
The equipment donated includes 7 examination screens, 4 examination beds, 2 adult weighing scales, 5 infant weighing scales, 5 BP machines, 5 thermometers, 7 stadiometers, 3 fetoscopes,6 benches and 6 maternal retesting IEC materials.
The equipment donated will support the Prevention of mother-to-child transmission services at Apodorwa, Diika, Karuma, Kichwabugingo, Kiigya, Kitwara, Yabweng and Techwa Health Center IIs.
While receiving the donation, Deputy RDC Kiryandongo, Mr Jonathan Akweteireho commended the government of Uganda for providing an enabling environment which has eased the operations of development partners.
Akweteireho also thanked Baylor Uganda for championing the fight against infectious diseases in the District.
Ms Edith Aliguma Adyerim, the Kiryandongo District Chairperson appreciated the good working relationship with Baylor which has improved the health service delivery in the District.
Aliguma also asked Baylor to consider providing support to the District, especially with medical equipment such as microscopes, delivery beds for persons with disabilities and glucometers.
