Kibaale, (UG): The former LC5 Chairperson of Kibaale District George William Nyamyaka is dead. He died Sunday morning at his home in Kitemuzi cell, Nyamyaka Ward, Mabaale Town Council in Kibaale district.
Nyamyaka’s family confirmed the sad passing, leaving many residents grappling with the loss of a prominent figure who played a crucial role in shaping the district’s development.
While the exact cause of his death has not yet been disclosed, the news of the former district boss’ passing has sent shockwaves through the community as he leaves behind a legacy that spans over a decade of leadership.
Nyamyaka’s political career began in the aftermath of the 2001 general elections, where he was nominated as a compromise candidate following a controversial victory by Fred Rulemera. His district leadership was officially recognized on July 25, 2002, when he was sworn in as chairman of the Greater Kibaale District.
For 14 years, Nyamyaka served as district chairman, earning respect and recognition as a key player in local politics.
His tenure, despite the initial election controversy, solidified his influence in the district, where his contributions are still remembered by many.
The district is now left to reflect on his leadership, with residents mourning the loss of a man who guided Kibaale through significant political and developmental changes.
