Brazzaville, (UG):- The Uganda Cranes team Sunday touched down at Maya Maya International Airport in Brazzaville, Congo, ahead of their crucial final match in the AFCON 2025 qualifiers.

The team, led by head coach Paul Put, will be based at the Grand Lancaster Hotel in Brazzaville as they prepare to face off against the host nation on Tuesday, November 19, 2024.

The team departed Uganda on Sunday morning at 3 a.m. with the ultimate goal of finishing their qualifying campaign on a high note following the dismaying 2-0 loss to South Africa at Namboole this week.

With 10 points, Uganda, who already secured qualification for the 35th edition of the tourney in 2025, are currently second in Group K, just one point behind leaders South Africa who play South Sudan at home in the other final match of the qualifiers. This makes the Uganda-Congo duel a vital opportunity for the Cranes to close out the campaign on a positive note.

Led by Captain Khalid Aucho, the squad, consisting of 26 players and the technical staff expressed confidence and determination ahead of the match.

“We understand the importance of this game, and we are committed to giving our best to ensure we end the campaign on a high note,” Aucho told journalists on Saturday.
