Umukuka lll to invite King Mswati for 2026 Imbalu celebrations

Pretoria, (SA):- The Umukuka III of the Bamasaba cultural institution, His Royal Highness Jude Mike Mudoma has written to King Mswati of Swaziland inviting him to serve as the Chief Guest for the upcoming 2026 Imbalu celebrations in Mutoto set to place approximately 500 days from now.

The development was confirmed by Steven Masiga, the Spokesperson of Inzu Yamasaba who told DailyExpress that the Umukuka is currently on an official working visit to several Southern African countries, including Malawi, South Africa, and Lesotho and Eswatini (Swaziland).

“During the visit, His Royal Highness is expected to pay a courtesy visit to His Majesty King Mswati III of Eswatini and formally invite him for the 2026 Imbalu celebrations,” Masiga noted.

“The Umukuka and his entourage will also visit various Bamasaba communities across South Africa and engage with the Ugandan Embassy officials. A highlight of the trip will include an official entry into the University of the Western Cape. The royal party plans to meet with members of the business community to encourage investment in Masabaland,” he added.

The Umukuka is accompanied by Her Royal Highness Annet Mudoma, his spouse, along with several key Inzuymasaba officials who include; Hon. Vincent Woboya, the Minister for Disaster and Emergencies; Hon. William Wanyoto Anthony, Secretary to Cabinet; Hon. Samuel Watulastu, Minister for Foreign Affairs; Hon. Sam Kuloba, Minister for Education.

Other delegates include; Hon. Wadada David, Financial Mobilizer; Hon. Wilson Metrine Nangila, Minister in Inzuymasaba; and Mrs. Irene Watulastu, an equerry of the Nabachelema Foundation.

The Umukuka’s visit to the South African countries marks an important diplomatic and cultural outreach for the Bamasaba people, strengthening ties within the region and promoting collaboration between Uganda and these nations.
