Alien Skin’s bodyguard charged, remanded over assault of Nsambya hospital staff

Kampala, (UG):- Makindye Chief Magistrates Court Friday charged and remanded to Prison one Julius Mugabi aka Julio, the bodyguard of musician Patrick Mulwana alias Alien Skin on charges of grievous harm against doctors at St. Francis Hospital Nsambya.

Mugabi appeared before Chief Magistrate Esther Adikini but denied the three charges of causing grievous harm slapped against him by the state and was remanded until Monday, November 25 when his co-accused, Alien Skin will also appear to be charged officially over the same offences

State Prosecution contends that Mugabi, together with Mulwana and others still at large on November 19, 2024, stormed St Francis Hospital Nsambya, Makindye Division in Kampala District and unlawfully did grievous harm to the hospital staff including Dr Zaidi Matovu, Alex Odongo and Anthony Munyanda.

Police said on Wednesday that the group forcefully entered the hospital on Tuesday night over the death of one Joram Tumwesigye, 28, a resident of Makindye Division, allegedly a member of Alien Skin’s Fangone Forest.

Alien Skin and Mugabi were the first two to be arrested as police launched investigations into the alleged assault, as a hunt for others still at large intensifies.

The controversial musician, who is already on remand at Luzira is accused of robbing one Salim Mubiru of his iPhone 15 valued at Shs3.5 million, Shs480,000 cash and a wallet containing a national ID in Makindye Division in Kampala District on September 28, 2024.

Alien is also accused of using violence during the said robbery but like Mugabi, he denied the charge slapped against him and will be expected back in court on December 9 for further mention of the robbery case.
