New Lango cabinet urged to prioritize ending leadership wrangles, improving region

Lira, (UG):- Lango Paramount Chief, Mzee Yosam Odur Ebii has instructed his newly approved ministers and cabinet members to prioritize ending the leadership wrangle in the Lango Cultural Foundation.

The chief delivered his message during the swearing-in ceremony of his new ministers after the Council of Owitong of Lango Cultural Foundation approved them on Monday, November 25, at a meeting held at Lira Palm Gardens in Lira City.

The lawyer for Lango Cultural Foundation Mike Abwang-Otim officiated the swearing-in of the new cabinet members. They include Prime Minister Frederick Ogwal Oyee, First Deputy Premier Levi Okodi, Patrick Abal, Julius Peter Motto, Ceaser Omach Ario, Ojok Okello Paul and others.

Additionally, Odur urged for unity and collaboration for the betterment of the region.

The speaker of Lango Cultural Foundation Dr Loury Lawrence Ocen highlighted that the absence of a functional cabinet had been hindering the effective operation of Lango Cultural Foundation.

“With the cabinet now in place, the new leadership is expected to address critical issues facing the cultural institution and work towards greater development in the region,” Ocen said.

The new Prime Minister Frederick Ogwal Oyee emphasised teamwork to improve the livelihood of the people of Lango. “Let us fight against Davison and actively engage in mobilizing Lango for wealth creation,” Ogwal said.

Meanwhile, the court is set to decide on an application for a stay of execution related to a ruling issued on the 31st October 2024 which was filed by Lango Culture Institution. The court will rule on the matter on Thursday, November 29th, 2024.
